The first 100 approved authors keep 100% of their first book's payout — for good
No platform fee on that book, period after period, not just its first one — our way of saying thank you for taking a chance on us before anyone else has.
Payout model
Paid for being read, not for being downloaded
Every subscription dollar enters one monthly pool. We take a flat 20% to run the platform and the editorial review. The rest is distributed by pages read — nothing else.

The formula
your payout = (pool × 80%) × your book's share of pages read that period
A book's share is its normalized pages read divided by every book's pages read platform-wide that period. A normalized page is a fixed word count, not a raw scroll event, so the unit stays comparable across books and devices. Reading from an author's own account on their own book, and statistically implausible reading patterns, are excluded before the pool is split.
Full-book downloads
Downloaded files can't report back reading activity, so a full-book download immediately credits that book with a full normalized read — otherwise downloading would starve the pool of the data it depends on. Full downloads are capped per subscription tier for exactly this reason; unlimited in-app reading and sample downloads are never capped.
Rules
What we will never do
- Pay for placement, or sell the front page to publishers.
- Count reading from an author's own account toward their own book's pool share.
- Change the fee percentage or distribution formula retroactively after a period has closed.
- Deduct card fees, hosting or conversion costs from an author's share beyond the published platform fee.
