Our story
Most ebook storefronts optimize for volume: whoever publishes the most, tagged the most aggressively, wins the most shelf space. That's a bad deal for readers looking for something genuinely good, and a worse deal for authors who write carefully and publish rarely.
Inkrafted is a subscription catalog where every book passes a human editorial review before it's listed — not an automated approval, not a popularity threshold. Readers pay one subscription for unlimited reading. Authors are paid from that pool in proportion to how much their work is actually read, not how many copies were downloaded.
We're building this in the open, publicly, before asking anyone to subscribe. Signing up for early access exists because we'd rather build the right thing than the fast thing.
One of our founders has published fiction as an indie author, and knows firsthand what it's like to write something you believe in and watch it disappear into a sea of other people's books. That experience is a big part of why this platform exists.
